We would love you all to share your stories of Maurice

Thoughts

We will always remember Maurice very fondly. He had a dry sense of humour and Graham does a great impression of his laugh!! Over the years we have shared times with Maurice and Claire in house groups at Larchcroft Road, Church Weekends away, Harvest Suppers, Family Fun Days, B.B. events, and many more. He was a very humble man and a hard worker. When he built a small extension on our house, the Building Regulations Officer visited and as soon as he knew it was Maurice who was undertaking the work, he said that he knew it would be work of a high standard! I remember thinking what a wonderful reputation Maurice must have had. It was during this building work that Ron passed away suddenly and Maurice asked the workers to down tools for the day, which we so appreciated. During the rebuilding of Holly Lodge, both Ron and Maurice’s knowledge and expertise was invaluable. I was on the diaconate at the time and we all acknowledged what a blessing it was to have their experience and advice throughout the process. What a great example Maurice’s life was and what a legacy he has left behind. ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.’

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
